Hudson Valley Wedding photography takes me to a very different place than Hudson Valley Fine Art Photography does. This is why I am always on a quest to always find new things with photography especially studio photography!
When I was a little girl my mom used to have a lot of holistic and natural products in the home. There were bottles of witch hazel and henna hair products. On one of these boxes, I cannot remember which, there were pictures of women with curly and long flowing hair. Lots of flowers and goddess-like poses. I was fascinated by these images as a little girl, to me they were my ‘Disney Princesses’.
Fast forward to art classes in High School where I was introduced to the works of Alphonse Mucha! His beautiful artwork of women in 1920’s France transported me back to those ladies on my mom’s home products.
Earlier this year I got to work with a young woman who embodied the 1920’s Mucha look so perfectly. I was inspired to do something I have never done before, a concept photography shoot! I studied Alphonse Mucha’s pictures and instead of ‘copying’ him directly I allowed his work to inspire the concept with his flowing fabrics, flowers and classic looks. I hope I honored his work with my concept, and hope you enjoy some of my favorites from the shoot:
Model – Andrea Wynn

This image is an epic representation of what has inspired me all these years…
…but before I show this portion of the shoot I will start with the ‘Goddess’ portion – enjoy!!
